Healthy Chicken and Green Beans Skillet

Well, 2021 is here and we’re making sure we stay on the right healthy path for our foods!  It’s not hard friends, trust me … just need some inspiration sometimes - and that's what I’m here for!  Healthy, happy and mostly inexpensive supper ideas that make you full and feeling fine!  And after a week like mine that included RUNNING A MARATHON [yes! thank you] I needed something that would check off all the boxes for a HURRIED meal. 

My chicken and green beans skillet dinner that takes 30 minutes to cook - 30 and done ya’ll!  It’s one of my favorites when I want a fast and cheap meal that is also very healthy.  No preservatives.  No thick sauces. No four hour preparation. Just right!

I use the lemon juice to brighten up the taste and to make sure the beans are JUST RIGHT!  Besides making your mouth water, acidity cuts greasiness and heaviness and gives food a fresh taste. Lemon juice can also change a food's texture to fit a variety of needs and sauces and foods containing it help in the digestion of fried foods. Hint - Lemons can be used in baked goods and desserts to provide a light, fresh flavor. They are also used as a garnish, in the form of a slice or wedge added to the plate. Woot!

Here’s a Secret Tip:  What is the healthiest way to eat green beans?

We recommend healthy steaming for green beans for maximum flavor and nutrition. Fill the bottom of a steamer pot with 2 inches of water. While waiting for the water to come to a boil, rinse green beans and then throw them in for about 2 minutes if you want a bit of a crunch, or longer if you don’t.  Up to you - but steaming is the best way to prepare them for your digestive system.  You’re welcome ...
