When one of your children approaches you with a bag of potatoes in hand, it can only mean one thing. #Mashedpotatoes y'all!
Today I am whipping up the simplest, most delicious dish that is, quite frankly, a staple of Carolina cooking. Of course I'm doing it with my favorite @Basil Hayden's bourbon and my @InknBurn yoga pants on! Now let me tell you why this dish is so simple. You only need three ingredients! Potatoes, butter, sour cream, and salt and pepper. Okay so that's five but salt and pepper is a given, isn't it? Just make sure that you put in enough pepper so that you can see it in there!
- Sour cream
Boil the potatoes in salted water until you can easily cut with a spoon
Drain water and add a whole stick of butter, covering the butter with the still hot potatoes to melt
Add in half a container of sour cream
Add salt and pepper to taste
Mash with a hand mixer until smooth

“Another of my favorites! This is a good last minute dinner, because it can be broiled in less than a half-hour. If your husband calls in the afternoon to ask if he can bring someone home for dinner, say "yes" and serve this along with a good tossed salad and a good dessert and everyone will be please with the dinner.” ~ Betty Feezor
Tonight we are making a simple, jam-packed with flavor, grilled chicken marinade. It’s so easy to grill up a couple of packs of chicken that you can use for a healthy salad, a quick wrap or just add a side dish and enjoy.
