Leigh Brown, Past President of NC REALTORS® (2023), spoke at the Austin Board of REALTORS® ABoR Director Leadership Retreat, held in Austin, Texas, October 29–30, 2024.
A director leadership retreat is a different room than a convention hall, smaller, higher-stakes, the people who actually steer a board. Leigh has sat in those chairs herself, having led a state association through a full term, so she talks to volunteer leaders as one of them: candid about what the work costs and honest about what it returns. This is a broker who still runs her own firm, which means the strategy she brings to a leadership table has been tested against her own payroll, not just a slide deck.
