Leigh Brown, a Certified Residential Specialist, spoke at the Gaston Association of REALTORS® 2026 Fair Housing Event Series, held at the Gastonia Conference Center in Gastonia, North Carolina, on April 16, 2026.
The day ran in two parts: a morning Housing Forum and an afternoon Fair Housing CE class covering the NAR Code of Ethics requirement plus four hours of elective credit, and it was open to non-REALTORS® too. Fair housing is not a box-checking topic for Leigh, it is the practical business of making sure every neighbor gets a fair shot at the home they want, taught in her own North Carolina backyard. Gaston County is her ground; she has called herself a Billy, not a hillbilly, from the foothills just up the road, and this is the kind of room she takes personally.
